EDITORIAL
by Rod WardPOSTAL STRIKES
At the time of going to press there is the possibility of industrial action in the UK postal service. Modern communications by email, Internet, fax and phone have replaced the post for many purposes, but mail orders and magazines still have to be delivered by post. If there is any disruption to postal deliveries, I’m sure it will be temporary, so please bear with us.
NEW PHONE NUMBER
Please note that our telephone number is now 01977 681991, the same as our fax number. Do not ring our old number, which is now discontinued. If you are sending a fax to us, please do so outside UK business hours (send faxes between 5:00 pm and 9:00 am UK time).
AUTO REVIEW: Armstrong Siddeley
The latest Auto Review book is now available, on Armstrong Siddeley (see page 22).
The next titles published will be Fine Bodies: Coachbuilt in Britain, DAF cars, and Tractors & Traction Engines.
So once again, here is the latest appeal for material I can include in forthcoming Auto Review books: future subjects include the Sherpa van story (including the Morris J van, JB, 250JU, J4 etc), Alvis, Aston Martin, Lagonda, Hillman, Singer, Jensen, Allard, Railton, aviatrices (lady pilots), and many other subjects (20+ others in our plan so far). If you have any illustrations (advertisements, sales brochures, your own photographs etc) or any personal anecdotes you can offer on any subject, please send them to me as soon as possible for inclusion in future publications. I also invite your suggestions for future titles; all your ideas are welcome...

CLUB NEWS
Collated by Rod WardMaidenhead Static Model Club will welcome Frank Joyce of EFE to talk at a meeting next year. Clubs offer great opportunities for collectors to meet the ‘movers and shakers’ in the industry. Wheel Nuts, the South Hants Model Auto Club magazine, devoted a recent issue to lots of features on the Mini, for its 50th anniversary, plus many accounts of festivals, rallies and exhibitions attended by their adventurous members. Will Roe, President of the Coventry Diecast Model Club, is back behind the wheel as Editor of Wheelspin, the CDMC magazine. Welcome back, Will, and at least you have a lot of support from members supplying articles and pictures. I keep saying that Showcase, the West Australian Model Collectors Club magazine is well- packed with content by Editor Keith Allen, much of which he writes himself. Now he seems to have run out of steam, and in the absence of much in the way of contributions from members, the pages will be more sparsely filled. That is a shame. Come on fellers, pull your weight! In The Brooklin Collector, organ of the Brooklin Collectors Club, it is noted that Bob Timmis’s Lansdowne Collectors Club has closed, its last members’ models being is a set of two Lansdownes in special colours; the MG Magnette and Wolseley 15/50. The Brooklin Collector also notes that in addition to the black Hertz Mustangs made as the 2009 Brooklin Factory Special, about 50 were made in red, exclusively for certain Brooklin dealers...
