Win a SOPWITH PUP!

Our prize this time is a c. 1:19 scale hand-finished hardwood model of a Sopwith Pup. It represents B2192 of the Gosport School of Special Flying, in a dramatic striped livery, piloted in 1917 by Captain Foote. It was one of 100 built by Whitehead Aircraft Ltd, and powered by a 100 hp Gnôme Monosoupape. The Pup was descibed by Oliver Stewart as 'the perfect flying machine'. You only have to get three questions right out of five for your name to be selected by Biggles. He seems pleased that we are offering a Pup.

  1. Who designed the Sopwith Pup?
  2. Name one of the three 80hp engines which preceded our Pup's 100hp engine.
  3. What Sopwith fighter that followed the Pup was named after its 'hump'?
  4. What was notable about the Pup's connection with HMS Furious?
  5. Sopwith led to Hawker, but after whom did T O M Sopwith name his new firm?

Please send your answers on a picture postcard to avia mini competition, PO Box SM2, Leeds LS25 5XA, UK or fax to +44 (0) 1977 681991 or telephone our 24 hour voicemail on +44 (0) 1977 681966 , or you can e-mail to sales@zeteo.com
